Gullfoss from the "wrong" side. The tourists are nearly all on the other side. I had seen literally hundreds of photos of Gullfoss prior to going to Iceland, all of them from the easily accessible tourist side of the river. In anticipation of this trip, one of my distant relations sent me a pile of photos he had taken around Iceland, one immediately recognizabile as Gullfoss from the "wrong" direction. I decided I just had to figure out how to get there, and get this unusual perspective on the falls. It took a couple wrong turns, and a slight stretching of our rental car agreement... but we found it.
